Signature Style
When I first began creating keepsakes, I didn’t have a defined style—I was focused on perfecting my craft. It wasn’t until I made my first quilt and pillow that I fell in love with the look of patchwork squares. With a background in slow fashion and six years working at a conscious clothing boutique, I’ve always been mindful of textile waste and wanted my designs to reflect that.
In my early keepsake animals, I used more material than necessary, trying to represent every item across each body part. I liked how they looked, but something didn’t feel quite right. As a minimalist at heart, I’ve always believed in the “less is more” approach. I started using fewer clothing items per animal, and immediately, each piece felt more intentional. The design felt cleaner, and each fabric stood out more. I also noticed I was wasting less fabric!
That sparked another idea—why not use the leftover scraps in a meaningful way? Now, with any extra fabric, I create a surprise hair scrunchie as a sweet thank you. It’s one more way I can reuse and repurpose material that would have otherwise gone to recycling, leaving me with even less waste and a cute new accessory for each of you!
Still, something felt like it was missing… That’s when I tried something new! I incorporated my favorite element from the pillows and quilts—patchwork squares—into the animals themselves.
After experimenting with different sizes, I finally found one that felt just right! It blended beautifully into each keepsake and brought a fresh, signature look that I truly loved. I’ll be honest… these patchwork squares take twice as long, if not more. There’s cutting, interfacing, sewing, then sewing again. But every step is so worth it. I genuinely love what I do and pour my heart into each keepsake!
Some of the signature touches I add to every keepsake animal include:

• A classic black bow tie for a clean, elegant finish
• Hand-stitched nose and mouth—no two smiles are the same, just like humans!
• Handmade cotton dust bags to wrap each keepsake with care and preserve quality
